Child Safety Standards

Our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE)

DisplA has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any content, conduct, or contact that sexualises, endangers, or exploits a minor is strictly prohibited on our service, and we act on it immediately.

DisplA is an adults-only service (18+)

DisplA is intended solely for adults aged 18 and over. Users must provide a date of birth when creating an account, and anyone who indicates they are under 18 is refused access and signed out. Our Terms & Conditions prohibit under-18s from using the service. We do not knowingly permit minors to create or hold an account, and any account we identify as belonging to a minor is terminated.

What is prohibited

The following are prohibited without exception on DisplA:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form, including generated or edited imagery.
  • Sexualisation of minors, including text, imagery, or discussion.
  • Grooming, solicitation, or any attempt to engage a minor for sexual purposes.
  • Sextortion, or trading, advertising, or soliciting CSAM.
  • Facilitating offline contact with a minor for the purposes of abuse or exploitation.

How to report a child safety concern

Every user profile and message thread in DisplA includes a Report option, and “Child safety concern (CSAE)” is available as a reporting category. Reports of this type are prioritised at the top of our moderation queue.

You can also report a concern directly to us at brett@displa.co.uk. Reports may be made whether or not you hold a DisplA account, and may be made anonymously.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

How we respond

We review reports of child safety concerns as a matter of urgency, ahead of all other report types. Where a report is substantiated, we will:

  • Remove the offending content from the service.
  • Terminate the account or accounts responsible, and take reasonable steps to prevent the user re-registering.
  • Preserve related records as required by law to support investigation by the relevant authorities.
  • Report to the appropriate national authority (see below).

Reporting to authorities

DisplA complies with applicable child safety laws in the jurisdictions in which it operates. Where we become aware of apparent child sexual abuse material, we report it to the appropriate authority — including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the United States, and the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) and the National Crime Agency’s CEOP command in the United Kingdom — and we cooperate with law enforcement requests made through lawful process.

Designated point of contact

Our designated point of contact for child safety and CSAE matters, including enquiries from regulators, authorities, and platform partners, is:

Design and preventative measures

Beyond enforcement, DisplA is designed to reduce risk: the service is restricted to adults, accounts must supply a date of birth before use, location sharing is strictly opt-in and limited to the duration of an event the user has chosen to attend, and every user can block another user at any time. We keep our standards, reporting routes, and moderation practices under review, and update them as our service and the applicable law evolve.
